Notes

About. Open Cosmos (UK, Harwell) offers DataCosmos: a STAC catalogue of imagery from its own and partner satellites, an Ordering API that prices and buys catalogue items against contract credits, and a tasking tool where users create scene, coverage, recurrent or systematic tasking requests that Open Cosmos operations review before scheduling. APIs use OAuth 2.0 (Auth0) with client credentials issued by the DataCosmos team.

Price. Pricing docs: 'Prices are contract-specific - the rate per km², currency, and any applicable discounts are all determined by your contract terms.' Credits are denominated in USD and held per organisation, expire at month end. Scene tasking is 'priced on total swath area, satellite, product and priority' and shown on submit.

Coverage. No country list found. The licence bars use in or for comprehensively sanctioned countries and restricted parties, and bars military offensive use of the Multi-150 product.

Timing. Scene tasking 'requests can be placed up to one week ahead'; opportunities up to '3 months into the future'; delivery time after capture is not stated.

Licence. Data Product License Agreement (DataCosmos - OpenConstellation): worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence by licence type (0 Evaluation, 1 Research and non-commercial, 2 Commercial internal, 3 Commercial group, 4 Government/Enterprise distribution, 5 Insight partner). The licensee must not 'redistribute, sublicense, lease, or otherwise make available the Product in any form' except as the type and a written Licence Confirmation allow; value-added products and derivative works the licensee creates stay the licensee's, subject to the provider's rights. The Evaluation type (type 0) bars using the Product to 'train or validate commercial models'; no other type's AI clause was found, so AI training is left unstated.
