Each link
  1. 1. Real personNot stated

    Person · Not stated

Still open: Not applicable in the usual sense: captures are made by satellite/aircraft operators, not individual people; SkyFi documents no operator-level attestation.

  2. 2. Captured locallyNot stated

    Camera · Not stated

Still open: Not a signed capture, so none (STANDARD §3). What is stated: Each archive record names provider, constellation, product type, resolution/GSD; pricing page lists sensor specs per satellite (e.g. WorldView-3 31 cm). Sensor identity is metadata asserted by the operator and passed through by SkyFi; no independent check documented. SkyFi was not found on the C2PA conforming products page.

Place · Claimed. Archive records include a footprint geometry; deliverables include GeoTIFF/COG

Still open: Georeferencing accuracy (CE90 etc.) per product was not found in SkyFi's public docs

Needs both: the weaker one counts.

  3. 3. Genuine deviceNot stated

    App · Not stated

Still open: No public description of how SkyFi checks that delivered files are unmodified operator products; no signing or checksum scheme is documented in the API spec.

  4. 4. Sealed captureNot stated

    Content · Not stated

Still open: No public method for detecting manipulated or synthetic imagery; cloud cover and off-nadir are reported per scene but are quality, not integrity, measures

  5. 5. Known timestampReported

Time · Claimed. Archive records carry a captureTimestamp; tasking captures fall inside the requested window

Still open: How capture times are derived or validated is not documented by SkyFi; relies on operator metadata

A time stated, not attested (RFC 3161, a log): Reported.

  6. 6. Tracked in transitNot stated

Custody record (optional field) · Not stated

  7. 7. Independently verifiedNot stated

    Cross-check · Not stated

Still open: SkyFi does not document cross-checking one operator's capture against another; a buyer could compare multiple providers' archive scenes themselves

  8. 8. Delivered to youNot stated

Delivery receipt (optional field) · Not stated

Rate limit. No request rate limit published in the OpenAPI spec or MCP docs; the MCP privacy policy says it enforces rate limits, and order endpoints can return 429 'An order limit was reached'. Documented quotas: open-data orders 1/day (free) or 5/day (Pro); AOI max 500 vertices; archive search AOI max 500,000 km².

Notes

About. Self-serve marketplace that resells archive and newly tasked satellite and aerial imagery from many operators (Vantor, Planet, Umbra, ICEYE US, Satellogic, Sentinel open data and others) through one web app, a REST Platform API and a first-party remote MCP server (OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration), with per-km² or per-scene pricing, validate-before-order price checks, webhooks and delivery to S3/GCS/Azure.

Price. From skyfi.com/pricing: optical archive from $5/km² and new optical tasking from $8/km² (Vantor, Planet, Satellogic; 15 cm to 1 m); optical archive tops out at $100/km² for Ultra High 7.5 cm aerial; SAR from $450/scene archive and $675/scene tasking (e.g. Umbra); 3D products (DSM/DTM/point clouds) from $7.50/km²; basemap mosaics from $1/km²; open data free; no subscriptions, contracts or minimum spend. The same page's summary cards say single archive image from $15, single tasking image from $200, aerial from $35, analytics from $5. Minimums: SkyFi's FAQ says minimum tasking area is 25 km² and a 25 km² tasking request starts at $200; Planet Select orders need a 25 km² minimum AOI (from $6/km² archive >30 days, $12/km² flexible tasking). Archive minimums are per scene: each search result carries minSqKm/maxSqKm, priceForOneSquareKm and priceFullScene/fullSceneOnly. Exact prices come from the API (POST /pricing, /tasking/products, the */validate endpoints; MCP validate tools return estimatedCostCents). A 'full pricing sheet' download exists but was not read. Free accounts can place 1 open-data order per day and paid orders with a card on file; Pro accounts 5 open-data orders per day plus advanced billing (Pro price not found). The MCP connector itself is free. Check: the static pricing page shows only the per-image starting prices ($15 archive, $200 tasking, SAR $450, aerial $35); the per-km2 rates, the $675 SAR tasking figure and the 25 km² minimum were not visible on it in a later check, so confirm them in the app or the pricing sheet.

Coverage. SkyFi says it aggregates 50+ provider partners and 300+ satellite and aerial sources (llms.txt; the pricing and API pages say 300+ sources) and serves users in 179 countries. In-app providers named on the pricing page: Vantor, Planet, ICEYE, Umbra, Satellogic, Vexcel, Pixxel, GEOSAT, IMPRO and SIIS. The API's provider enum also lists Sentinel-1/2 (Creodias), Urban Sky, NSL, BlackSky, SatVu and Constellr. AOIs must be simple convex WKT polygons, max 500 vertices; archive searches max 500,000 km². Tasking offerings can be excluded with reason AOI_RESTRICTED (criteria unpublished). Actual availability per location and date depends on the underlying operator; Vantor imagery needs a separate EULA acceptance (else 403). The EULA bars making products available to embargoed or sanctioned countries, regions or parties under US export rules.

Timing. API docs: 'Tasking orders will deliver within 48 hours of image capture', with capture timing set by your tasking window; archive 'usually within 24 hours'. The pricing FAQ also names a 'Next Available Capture' mode that 'delivers imagery within 24 hours regardless of weather'.

Licence. SkyFi EULA: limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence for the end user's own internal purposes; you may create value-added products (VAP) and derivative works, share with contractors under written terms, and post or print extracts for promotion only; products may not be resold, redistributed or shared, and only derivative works that contain no imagery data and are irreversible may be distributed. Imagery remains the satellite provider's property (EULA 4.1); markings must not be removed. The EULA does not address AI/ML training. The MCP Terms say imagery is 'licensed, not sold' and bar reselling or redistributing it except as the provider licence permits; some operators (e.g. Vantor) have their own EULA. On SkyFi's own use of your data: the main privacy notice says data submitted through its AI-based tools may be logged and, once anonymised, used in training models; the MCP privacy policy says it does not use personal information to train AI models.
