Eight links

2 of 8 links claimed · 0 evidenced

Compiled from public sources, unclaimed. What they mean

Each link
  1. 1. Real personClaimed

Person · Claimed. Pilots apply with an onboarding quiz and their Part 107 certificate number where required (US); Canadian sub-250 g pilots need no certificate. Pilots must be in the US or Canada and represent they hold the licences required; Spexi 'reserves the right to verify your eligibility'. public evidence

Still open: Whether Spexi actually checks certificate numbers or pilot identity; no public record of pilot vetting

  2. 2. Captured locallyNot stated

    Camera · Not stated

Still open: Not a signed capture, so none (STANDARD §3). What is stated: Only supported DJI Mini 2/3/3 Pro/4 Pro drones with phone-based controllers; images delivered as JPEG with EXIF. Whether images are signed or tamper-evident; no C2PA signing documented and neither Spexi nor DJI is on the C2PA Conforming Products List

Place · Claimed. Per-image camera position, altitude, heading, pitch and footprint geometry; uploads matched to the flight record of the automated mission over the assigned zone public evidence

Still open: GPS-spoofing resistance; standard orthomosaics are accurate only to about 5 m absolute

Needs both: the weaker one counts.

  3. 3. Genuine deviceClaimed

App · Claimed. Missions are flown through the Spexi App, which runs an automated, standardized flight; uploads are matched server-side to the app's flight record before a capture is marked 'verified' (a flight-record match, not attestation). public evidence

Still open: Images are copied manually from the drone's SD card and uploaded via the Spexi Explorer, so the matching method's resistance to substituted files is not documented. No C2PA signing documented; Spexi is not on the C2PA Conforming Products List

  4. 4. Sealed captureNot stated

Content · Claimed. Every ordered product passes a 'qa' status before 'delivered'; FAQ lists lighting and flight-time controls public evidence

Still open: QA criteria and rejection rates

Counts only with a stated signing mechanism (C2PA, a manifest).

  5. 5. Known timestampReported

Time · Claimed. Each image carries a capture timestamp ('precise date and time of image acquisition') and EXIF data, returned as capturedAt by the API; uploads are matched to the app's flight record public evidence

Still open: How the timestamp is produced (drone clock or phone) and whether it is checked against the flight record; nothing signed or publicly checkable

A time stated, not attested (RFC 3161, a log): Reported.

  6. 6. Tracked in transitNot stated

Custody record (optional field) · Not stated

  7. 7. Independently verifiedNot stated

    Cross-check · Not stated

Still open: No documented independent re-capture or cross-check. LayerDrone markets 'blockchain verification' of uploads but publishes no method or public record a buyer can check; overlapping images of the same feature exist but are not presented as verification

  8. 8. Delivered to youNot stated

Delivery receipt (optional field) · Not stated

Notes

About. Drone imagery company whose pilots fly standardized, app-automated missions over H3 hexagon zones with sub-250 g DJI Mini drones. Its Developer API searches existing drone imagery and, through a Tasking API, orders new captures (images, panoramas, orthomosaics) of a polygon or set of zones, tracked per product from submission to delivery.

Price. Spexi does not publish prices on its own site or API docs; new-capture requests are 'typically linked to your service agreement', and Charges are set in an Order Form (rising 5% at each 12-month renewal). The $450/km² figure is SkyWatch's indicative reseller rate for Spexi-Ortho tasking as of June 2026, not a direct Spexi price. A free-trial account exists with a limited image-search quota and view-only rights.

Coverage. Pilots must be located in the United States or Canada; API docs describe 'high-resolution aerial coverage across North America', and Spexi's location pages list only US and Canadian cities. Archive of 6.5M+ acres (company claim). Restricted airspace may be unfulfillable or need exemptions. Per-area fill rates are not published; coverage endpoints show existing coverage only.

Timing. Spexi homepage: 'From request to real-world data in days, not months.'

Licence. Spexi Data Terms (updated 2025-12-03): a paid Order grants a non-exclusive, worldwide licence for the Term to copy, store, edit and make derivative works for the customer's internal business purposes. The customer must not publish, sell, license, sub-license or redistribute the Content, and must not use it to compete with Spexi or to train, verify or test AI systems that compete with Spexi's services. All Content, including bespoke captures the customer ordered, stays owned by Spexi, and access ends at termination. Free-trial users may only view. Other AI training is not addressed, so treat it as not granted.
