Price. Free tier: limited image size, image URLs valid for a short time (15 minutes on the pricing page, 10 minutes in the docs), pagination offset capped at 1000; images must be linked to windy.com or shown via the embeddable timelapse player, which may carry Windy ads. Professional: 9,990 EUR per year, paid annually in advance and auto-renewing; full-size images, image URLs valid 24 hours, offset up to 10,000, no ads in the timelapse player, and an all-webcams export in one call. No USD price published. The free tier may not be offered only inside the paid part of a user's app.

Coverage. Only existing webcams with fixed views; you cannot point or add a camera on request. Windy calls it 'the largest collection of webcams worldwide'; Windy staff: '70 000+' webcams (2026-05-28). Filters by country, region, city, continent and 18 categories (airport, beach, building, city, coast, forest, indoor, lake, landscape, meteo, mountain, observatory, port, river, sportArea, square, traffic, village). Terms describe webcams as mounted outdoors to monitor the general natural environment.

Timing. Docs: call /webcams/api/v3/webcams or /webcams/api/v3/webcams/{webcamId} every time the page is loaded to get current image URLs, whose tokens expire after 10 minutes (free) or 24 hours (professional).

Licence. Specific Terms of Use of the Windy Webcams API (effective 1 Sept 2023) govern and prevail over the general terms. They forbid redistributing any part of the API or its data to third parties, further redistributing the Content, giving third parties access to the API or your key, letting third parties build services on it, publishing any graphics displaying webcam images, stretching images, using image URLs other than those the API returns, continuous scanning of many webcams or downloading significant parts of image history, intensive automated use of any endpoint, and trying to identify people in the images. Users must visibly credit 'Webcams provided by windy.com - add new webcam' with links. Copyright stays with Windy and its suppliers (the webcam operators). General Windy terms add: no selling, renting or sublicensing Content, use for your own internal purposes only, and webcam images are excluded from the general permission to reuse Windy visuals. So an agent should not hand an image to a different person or publish a graphic showing it (Art. 10.1, 11.2); show it only through the player or the API URL to the key holder. AI or ML training and caching are not mentioned.
